FAQ

Where are you located?

In Port Angeles, WA, at 816 E. Eighth Street (in the Angeles Healing Arts building). Click on the "Contact" page for a map of my location.

Who comes to you for therapy?

People who want:

  • to work to make a difference in their own lives,
  • to find greater peace of mind,
  • to become more fully themselves,
  • to follow their own spiritual path to healing.

Do you take insurance?

I am contracted as a preferred provider with:

  • Premera / LifeWise
  • Regence / Uniform Health Plan
  • First Choice Health
  • TriCare
  • Aetna
  • TriWest
  • Cigna
  • Apple Health (Medicaid)
    • Amerigroup
    • United Healthcare
    • Molina

For other companies, I will bill your insurance company as an "out of nework provider." Some companies have good out-of-network benefits, some are almost non-existant. You can contact your company or check your policy to see what your benefits are.

I strive to make my services affordable for anyone who wants to give themself the gift of therapy. Do not let cost prohibit you if you are called to do this work.

Do you work with children?

I work with older adolescents (generally 16 and over). If you would like a referral to a therapist who specializes in children, give me a call, and I would be happy to help with some referrals.

Do I have to tell you the whole story of my traumatic past?

No, you don't. Often, telling what happened is retraumatizing. This is the problem with bad therapy, you just talk about what happened, but nothing gets better. I insist on identifying and developing your inner strengths (with a variety of simple techniques I can use) before you work on traumatic memories. When we do therapy to resolve and heal trauma, I will guide you through, using your inner strengths and protective measures. It is not necessary for you to talk about (or even remember clearly) what happened. But it is necessary for you to connect internally with the emotions that you still have that were triggered by the traumatic events.
